The receptionist will put the request through to the clinician or an appointment made and confirmed to you by text.
Please be aware that unfortunately the doctor will only be able to try to call you TWICE and will then stop trying due to time constraints.
Acute prescriptions produced during telephone consultations will be sent via ETP (electronic transfer process) to your chosen Pharmacist, if you have not set this up please contact us to do so.
Telephone calls will be recorded for quality and training purposes. As with all consultations, confidentiality will be maintained at all times.
These are available for pre-bookable appointments only - this will allow for those who find it difficult to visit their doctor during the week to access a GP at the weekend.
Housebound patients and those too ill to attend the Medical Centre may request a home visit by using the AccuRx online patient service, the request will then be triaged by a clinician.
This request should include brief details of the problem so the doctor may judge the urgency of the visit.
Sometimes patients ask if we can provide a chaperone to accompany them if they are having an examination with their GP.
This notice is to advise patients we can provide that service.
If you would like a chaperone, please ask your GP.
Cancel an Appointment
It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

Text Reminder Service
We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.
To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.

In general, your usual doctor will manage your day to day medical needs including prescriptions, administration, paperwork and test results.
In certain cases you may be seeing a different doctor for a specific reason and normally that doctor will manage that condition and any tests or prescriptions or referrals associated with it. Overall you will still be regarded as a patient of your usual doctor for everything else.
We do recognise that some patients prefer to see a specific doctor for certain kinds of condition, and there is no restriction on patients booking to see that doctor to discuss that condition. This does not change your status with your usual doctor by doing this.
In general we do not encourage patients to make appointments to discuss changing their doctor, as this is best carried out by the administration department – we will always try and accommodate a request for a change of named usual doctor please make your request in writing to the Patient Services Manager.
We are a training practice and have a GP registrar working with us undertaking their advanced training in General Practice. Registrars are qualified doctors who have had considerable hospital experience and generally stay with us for up to 12 months.
We also have medical students, junior doctors and nurses undergoing training with us from time to time.
